Sunderland fans have been watching on in amazement at the progress Amad Diallo has made at Manchester United this season, but that is going to end now.
Amad Diallo has been one of the breakout stars of the Premier League season this year, to the surprise of many. But, anyone who saw him play for Sunderland has not been shocked in the slightest by his meteoric rise.
Black Cats fans knew Diallo was a ‘superstar’ all along, and he’s finally proving his worth at Old Trafford after a difficult couple of years there.
The winger has come a long way since his time in the Sunderland squad, but he’s now hit a major stumbling block.

Amad Diallo out for the season with injury
We know everyone was gutted for Diallo last season after injury held back his progress at Old Trafford, and sadly, it’s happened again now.
As news emerged about the 22-year-old suffering a serious injury, the man himself took to Twitter/X to share an update on his condition, and it’s not good news.
He wrote: “Extremely disappointed to be writing this message in such a crucial time of the season. Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury. I will come back stronger than ever. Time to support the boys from the outside, still loads to play for.”

The initial report on the situation came from the Daily Mail, with Diallo suffering with ankle ligament damage picked up in a training session earlier this week.
The United man is expected to miss the next three months, meaning he is extremely unlikely to play any further part for the Red Devils this season.

Can Amad Diallo pick up where he left off next season?
As we mentioned before, Diallo has been through a similar situation in the past, with injury stalling his development immediately after returning from his loan spell at the Stadium of Light back in the summer of 2023.
Of course, now it’s a little bit different, as he had so much momentum behind him and the mental blow of being ruled out at this stage will be huge.
But, Diallo has done enough already to prove how pivotal he is to the United cause, and the good thing for him is that the club and the fanbase will be desperate for his return.
Diallo has a new contract tied up there, he’s shown he is a big game player for United, and now he just needs to focus on recovery so that he can pick up where he left off come August.
