PSG share Dembele injury update as four big decisions made before Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has left Ousmane Dembele out of his 19-man squad to play Strasbourg in Ligue 1 action on Saturday afternoon.

The France ace departed the Champions League semi-final first leg victory over Arsenal with a hamstring injury and that has seen him become a huge doubt for the second leg at Parc Des Princes. That game arrives next Wednesday but both clubs must first navigate league outings.

While PSG are away from home against Champions League-chasing Strasbourg, Arsenal welcome Bournemouth to Emirates Stadium. Some rotation is expected from Mikel Arteta ahead of attempting to overturn the deficit, but he has ruled out wholesale changes.

"We have so much to play for still in the two competitions, Premier League and Champions League," he said at his pre-match press conference.

"Certainly, in terms of intensity and how they approach every duel [Bournemouth and PSG are similar]," Arteta added on how facing the Cherries could help his preparation for PSG. "In the way of playing they are a little bit different. They want to achieve things that are very similar to PSG in certain ways."

Enrique, meanwhile, has already rotated heavily before with PSG crowned French champions again back in early April. And with his side in a great position to reach the Champions League final, big changes are expected against Strasbourg - and some of those have already been confirmed by PSG's squad announcement.

Alongside Dembele, with Enrique confirming he would be absent, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes and Marquinhos are also missing with the defensive quartet rested.

Seven Arsenal players will also not feature this weekend, but their absences are enforced owing to injury. Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Jesus will not play again this season, while Neto is ineligible to face his parent club.

However, Arteta has also issued positive updates on the possibility of Riccardo Calafiori, Jorginho or Kai Havertz returning against PSG. "I wouldn't rule all of them out. Let's see in the next few days how I feel they react," he said on Friday pre-match.
