Chelsea will, reportedly, not be involved in a swap deal involving Jamie Gittens and Carney Chukwuemeka.
Borussia Dortmund sensation Gittens trained at the academies of Chelsea and Manchester City and has risen to prominence in the 2024/25 season, primarily due to his performances in the Champions League. The 20-year-old netted his first two goals during Dortmund's 3-0 triumph over Club Brugge in September.
The winger's impressive performances on German soil have reportedly piqued the interest of several Premier League clubs, including the Blues, Arsenal, and Liverpool. However, as per reports from the German outlet BILD, Dortmund would only contemplate parting ways with the forward if they receive an offer upwards of €100million (£83million).
Some reports have recently claimed that Enzo Maresca's side may look to involve Chukwuemeka in a swap deal to try and secure Gittens' signature. The former Aston Villa player has impressed while on loan at the Signal Iduna Park from Stamford Bridge.
But Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has rubbished any suggestion that a swap deal could take place. He claims that the Blues and Bayern Munich are interested in a potential deal, although the German giants are prioritising a move for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz.
"A swap deal between Dortmund and Chelsea involving Jamie Gittens and Carney Chukwuemeka is not currently being considered," he said on X - formerly known as Twitter.
"Chelsea are very keen to sign Gittens, and have made their interest clear to the player's camp. However, there is no agreement, commitment or negotiation between the clubs at this stage. Gittens remains an option for Bayern, but the current focus is firmly on the potential transfer of Florian Wirtz."
