Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has fired an apology to Reds' teammate Mohamed Salah ahead of this weekend's showdown vs Chelsea. Arne Slot's team have been in high spirits after Liverpool clinched the Premier League title with their emphatic 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The feel-good factor has continued with four Premier League games to play, beginning with a trip to Champions League hopefuls Chelsea on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm). After achieving his target of winning another Premier League, and fulfilling his promise to the Liverpool supporters from 12 months earlier, Salah has been a real beacon of happiness following a second top-flight success at Anfield.
On Friday, Salah posted a story on to Instagram of a series of photographs left on his phone, by Nunez, while his device was left unattended.

There was a range of images, including mug-shots and selfies, with captain Virgil van Dijk in the background on a few. The Uruguayan issued a tongue-in-cheek response on his own Instagram, replying: "Sorry bro."
Nunez hit the headlines recently after reports arising from Portugal indicated that Liverpool would be due to pay €5million to Benfica after reaching 60 top-flight starts for the Reds.
The claim was refuted, the ECHO understands, and the 25-year-old could be in-line for an appearance against the west Londoners on Sunday as Slot eyes rotation with the title wrapped up.

There could also be opportunities for Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa, who have found game-time limited this season, as well as Nunez who has predominantly featured off the subs bench.
"This is a moment to see where they are, also looking towards next season maybe a bit already," said Slot.
"But, definitely also because they deserve to play this season."
"I don't think these players have to prove the quality players they are, but I think they want to prove, themselves, that they are good enough to play for us.
"I already know that they are and, probably, they themselves know this as well.
