Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg has reported that Arsenal have added Lookman to their transfer shortlist for the 2025 summer window. It’s claimed that alongside the Gunners, more teams are keen on a possible move for the Nigerian winger.

Plettenberg adds that “the plan hasn’t changed” in regards to the Atalanta winger, who is planning to take a new step in his career in the summer by moving away from the Italian club. The journalist claims that a move to the Premier League is possible, with the 27-year-old currently contracted with his club until the end of June (2025). Arsenal seem to have been impressed with Lookman’s performances in the 2024/25 season, but it seems that they will face stiff competition for his possible signing in the summer.

How Can Lookman Fit in at Arsenal?

The Gunners could be looking at a move for Lookman to improve their forward line next season, especially knowing how versatile the Nigerian forward really is. Lookman has proven himself as a valuable asset for Atalanta in the ongoing campaign, playing in a variety of different positions for them. He might naturally be a left winger, but can also play as a centre-forward, second striker or attacking midfielder with relative ease.

The 27-year-old has made 37 appearances for the Italian club in the 2024/25 season, in which he’s scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions. Lookman is blessed with pace, can dribble his way into dangerous areas, and has really glistened up his final product, being able to finish off chances efficiently and also create them. The Nigerian has made 115 appearances for Atalanta so far, having 74 goal contributions (50 goals, 24 assists) and has played in the Premier League in the past for the likes of Fulham and Everton.
