Dean Huijsen AFC Bournemouth
AFC Bournemouth
Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen is currently one of the most sought-after defenders in European football and according to Fabrizio Romano, the centre-back will take a call on his future by the end of this month.
Huijsen has impressed greatly in his first season with the Cherries and every major European club has been linked with him over the past couple of months. In the Premier League, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have shown interest and outside England, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are said to be keen on signing him.
The 20-year-old joined from Juventus last year for a fee of just €15.2 million and this season, he has a rating of 7.2 out of 10 in 33 appearances for the club. His top-class performances combined with only a £50 million release clause has made him one of the most lucrative young prospects for the upcoming transfer window.
Will Dean Huijsen continue his journey with a new Premier League club?
Just like any other youngster, Dean Huijsen was supposed to come in and take some time to settle down in England. However, the 20-year-old has blown up in his first season and he’s currently being dubbed as ‘the next Sergio Ramos’.
Tottenham Hotspur are the least likely Premier League side who will be able to sign the centre-back because there’s no way Huijsen will want to join a team that is in complete disarray at the moment.
Chelsea and Arsenal have a much better chance because they can offer him European football and also a lucrative salary but to be honest, we think, the Spanish international will want to go back to his home country.
Dean Huijsen has just made his national debut for Spain and with Real Madrid interested in him, the centre-back might not look elsewhere.
Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba will soon hang up their boots and the Bournemouth youngster has the perfect chance of slotting into that space to become a regular starter for Los Blancos. Madrid also consider him a long-term solution to their defensive problems and they shouldn’t mind paying £50 million for such a fine talent.
If Arsenal go on to win the Champions League they can make a strong case for themselves but even then, we don’t think they can compete with Real Madrid – if Florentino Perez is serious about signing the defender.
By now, Dean Huijsen has surely understood his worth and all he has to do is decide where he will get the most value and can continue his growth.
