Tottenham target Christopher Nkunku is willing to leave Chelsea in the summer
Tottenham Hotspur have performed below expectations domestically. The Lilywhites are languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table. Serious questions need to be asked about Ange Postecoglou after a disastrous league campaign. His side has broken all sorts of unwanted records at the club. There is a possibility that Ange’s men finish the season just a place above the relegation zone.
Spurs face a massive squad overhaul in the summer. The North London club needs to cash in on underperforming players and bring in new faces if they want to have any chance of competing for trophies next season. But, before they can do that, Daniel Levy must sort out the managerial situation at N17. Ange Postecoglou’s future remains uncertain and the Lilywhites cannot bring new players in unless figure out his replacement.

The lack of consistency has proved to be costly for Spurs this season. Many key players have performed below expectations and just not proved their worth. Fans have also felt frustrated with the mediocre performances on the pitch and the atmosphere in the stadium has often turned hostile.
Tottenham target Christopher Nkunku is open to a move away from Chelsea
Tottenham are preparing to lose many of their key forwards in the summer. The Lilywhites have endured a difficult campaign and a squad overhaul is expected at the club. Richarlison is one of the players who is heading for the exit doors at N17. Mathys Tel’s future at the club also remains uncertain and Timo Werner is expected to return to Germany once his loan ends.
The North London club needs to sign quality replacements in the summer to replace these players. Spurs are interested in signing Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea. The forward has struggled to get into the starting eleven under Enzo Maresca. It was reported earlier that the Lilywhites have held a long-standing interest in the Frenchman and want to make a move for him.

However, Tottenham are not the only ones willing to sign the Chelsea outcast. PSG, Manchester United, and Arsenal have also enquired about his availability. Now, Florian Plettenberg (via X) has confirmed that the 27-year-old wants to head out of Stamford Bridge and he will decide on his future club in the coming months. The France international’s contract runs until 2029 at Stamford Bridge.
Should Tottenham sign Christopher Nkunku?
Christopher Nkunku has struggled to get going at Chelsea. The forward has fallen down the pecking order under Enzo Maresca. Limited game time and the lack of match fitness has made life tough for the 27-year-old at Stamford Bridge. The competition in the squad for various positions has not helped his cause either.
As per Sofascore, Nkunku has played in 42 games in all competitions this season, scoring 14 goals and providing five assists. However, most of the games that he has started have been in the UEFA Conference League. The 27-year-old has managed to start only nine matches in the Premier League. He has also registered only 911 minutes in the league this season.

Should Tottenham go for Nkunku? The answer is no. Chelsea are looking to recoup the £52 million they paid for him. He is also on high wages and Spurs cannot spend money on players who are struggling with form. The Frenchman would fit in Ange Postecoglou’s perfectly and Nkunku would also provide a different dynamic to the attacking line. However, it does not make sense for Tottenham to spend so much money on a struggling player.
