Manchester United are looking to raise around €30-40 million from Antony’s sale amidst interest from Arsenal, Real Betis and Atletico Madrid.
According to a report from UOL, Manchester United hope to recoup €30-40 million by offloading Antony this summer. The Brazilian international has revived his career since joining Real Betis on a short loan in the winter transfer window. His performances have attracted a lot of interest, and the Red Devils are looking to cash in on it.
Antony made a name for himself while playing for Ajax. He was regarded as one of the best young wingers in the game, and that is one of the reasons Manchester United forked out a massive €95 million to sign him in the summer of 2022.
Unfortunately, the move did not work out as he struggled to establish himself in the Manchester United starting XI. He was involved in a total of 96 matches but could only manage 17 goal contributions. The 25-year-old often found himself on the bench during the first half of the season.
As a result, he ended up securing a loan move during the winter transfer window. Despite his struggles at Old Trafford, Real Betis decided to bet on him, and the move has certainly done wonders for all parties.
The South American winger has been involved in 19 matches for the Spanish club, and he has contributed towards 10 goals. His arrival has helped get their season back on track, with the team now pushing for a European spot and on the verge of reaching the UEFA Europa Conference League final.
Multiple top clubs interested
Thanks to his performances, Real Betis are seriously considering signing him on a permanent basis. His impact has been exceptional, and they believe he could play a massive role in their team going forward. While Los Verdiblancos are willing to do everything in their power to sign him, Manchester United’s asking price and his lofty wages could be a problem for them.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are also interested in his services. Both clubs have enquired about the total cost of the operation. While the Gunners already have Bukayo Saka in their squad, Antony could prove to be a valuable addition.
He could cover for the English international and provide him with competition for a place in the XI. Atletico Madrid have been closely following his progress in Spain and they like what they have seen from the 25-year-old so far. He could prove to be a great signing for Diego Simeone’s team as they want to reinforce their squad this summer.
Despite his red-hot form, United are well aware of the fact that they can’t get anywhere close to the €95 million they had spent on him with him currently being valued at €20 million. But they are still hoping to recoup around €30 to €40 million from his sale.
