Virgil van Dijk suffered a howler
Liverpool suffered a title hangover on Sunday afternoon as Virgil van Dijk's "all-time howler" helped Chelsea double their lead.
The Blues had been quick to race into the lead, as Enzo Fernandez rolled the ball past Alisson. And the Brazilian was more sluggish than his usual self - and he was lucky to avoid a red card after a reckless challenge.
It would go from bad to worse in the second-half, when Van Dijk attempted to clear the ball, after failing to block the cross, only to power the ball into Jarell Quansah and the ball end up in the Liverpool net.
"Van Dijk is asking for a foul but seems to have forgotten about it pretty quickly...That man Cole Palmer - he is class," Gary Neville said on Sky Sports.
"He just unbalances Tsimikas and plays it into a dangerous area. It has been a feature of Chelsea's play that they have got bodies into the box in really good areas.

"I would like to have a very uncomfortable conversation about Virgil Van Dijk," one fan posted.
"How’s van dijk complaining about a foul, bro kicked it at his own teammate," a second said. While a third posted: "Can anyone show me a Van Dijk defending complication? Because I’ve never sent him actually defend!"

And another added: "Is it just me or did Premier League fans overhype Van Dijk into an all-timer not because he truly is, but because the league lacks real defensive all-timers?"
However, Van Dijk was able to get the last laugh when he powered home a consolation goal for the Reds in the final minutes of the game.
