Chelsea transfer target fires Cole Palmer two-word message as Enzo Fernandez shows true colours

Morgan Rogers has fired Cole Palmer a two-word message following Chelsea's 3-1 win over Liverpool. The 22-year-old midfielder fired the Blues to victory at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, securing three important points in the race for UEFA Champions League qualification.

Enzo Fernandez broke the deadlock inside the opening couple of minutes before an own goal from Jarell Quansah doubled the west Londoners' advantage. Virgil van Dijk pulled one back for Liverpool, but Palmer later put the third and final nail in the coffin.

In the final moments of stoppage time, the England international beat Alisson Becker from the penalty spot. After the game, Palmer marked the victory with a celebratory post on Instagram, which quickly tallied nearly half a million likes.

Captioning a carousel of pictures from the fixture, the former Manchester City ace wrote: "10 toes down, always." Among the thousands of fans who flooded the comment section, many of the Chelsea squad left messages of support.

"Got you every time," said Noni Madueke, meanwhile, Levi Colwill wrote: "No doubt [handshake emoji]." Rogers, who has been linked with a move to the Blues recently, posted: "My son."

According to The Independent, Chelsea are interested in signing the Aston Villa star this summer as Enzo Maresca looks to bolster his attack. The report claims that Unai Emery's side do not want to sell Rogers, who they view as a 'star for the future'.

However, it's said that profit and sustainability rules (PSR) could force Aston Villa – and lots of other Premier League clubs – into making sales they wouldn’t usually consider. The Independent add that Chelsea feel there may be an opportunity to do business with the Birmingham-based outfit.

Rogers' comment under Palmer's post has only fuelled speculation of a move in the summer. Fernandez also marked the victory with a celebratory post on Instagram, showing his true colours with a measured and mature message.

"Step by Step. Come on Blues [blue heart and lion emoji]," wrote the 24-year-old midfielder, who's relished a leadership role this season. Trevoh Chalobah, Pedro Neto and Marc Cucurella all congratulated Fernandez on his impressive performance against Liverpool.

Speaking to reporters after the game,Enzo Maresca was just as pleased with the result. The Chelsea manager said: "We go game-by-game for sure. Today, the performance has been a good performance, especially for the effort of the players.

"I think we have for sure some moments, a little bit been up and down for part of the season, but overall I am happy in the way the players are trying to do their job."
