Arsenal are concerned about Real Madrid’s interest in star defender William Saliba, sources have told Football Insider.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has been forced to insist Saliba, 24, is “very happy” at the Emirates Stadium despite links with Los Blancos.
However, the centre-back will have just two years to run on his Arsenal contract in June.
Sources say “alarm bells are ringing” at the London club as they fight to tie Saliba down long term, with Real Madrid’s interest unlikely to go away.
Arsenal concerned as Saliba contract dwindles
Arsenal will not consider offers for the France international this summer but could be backed into a corner if his contract continues to run down.
The Gunners will do everything they can to avoid that scenario as they plan contract negotiations with the 24-year-old.

Kiwior could quit Arsenal this summer
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (4 May) that Jakub Kiwior may consider leaving Arsenal this summer despite his strong run of form in the first team.
The Poland international joined Arsenal from Serie A side Spezia in January 2023 in a £20million deal, but has struggled for consistent game time in north London.
He has three years left to run on his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
