Ousmane Dembele is making progress in his bid to feature for PSG against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman scored the only goal of the match as PSG won the first leg in north London to give them control of the Champions League semi-final tie at the halfway stage.

They will now host the Gunners in Paris, when a place in the final in Munich laster this month will be on the line for two clubs who have never won the competition.

Dembele has been a significant doubt for the second leg, having been forced off against Arsenal at the Emirates with what PSG confirmed after the match was a hamstring strain.

PSG boss Luis Enrique said: “It's not serious, it's something very minor, but he's probably a doubt for the second leg.

"We're going to try to get Dembele back on the pitch. If Ousmane can play, that's better, but if he doesn't, we'll still be a real team. We've been saying that since the start of the season."

Dembele played no part as a much-changed PSG were beaten by Strasbourg over the weekend, with his full focus on recovering in time to face Arsenal.

That is a battle he appears to be winning, with French outlet L’Equipe reporting that Dembele completed gym work over the weekend and then returned to first-team training on Monday.

As it stands, it’s suggested that Dembele does not feel discomfort and is confident he will be able to feature against Arsenal, in what would be a huge boost to the hosts.
