Dani Olmo is confident Barcelona can take advantage of Inter Milan’s aggressive defensive approach against Lamine Yamal in Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg at _San Siro_.
Yamal was the star of the show in the first leg last week despite often facing double and triple teams from the _Nerazzurri_, and Inter coach Simone Inzaghi [says the approach will be the same](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/5/24424045/simone-inzaghi-lamine-yamal-barcelona-in-champions-league-clash) in the second leg to try and slow down Barça’s teenage superstar.
Olmo was asked in a press conference on Monday how the team can take advantage of that strategy, and the midfielder sounded pretty confident that Yamal’s teammates will be ready to pounce if they have more space due to the attention paid to Lamine.
> “We all know the type of player he is. It doesn’t even surprise me. Since the Euros, he’s been calm and very motivated. Double marking? That means there’ll be a free player, and he’s already shown he can play against one, two, and three. That way, there’ll be more free players. No problem.”
Barça’s second goal against Inter Milan last week, scored by Ferran Torres and assisted by Raphinha, was a perfect example of the other attacking players facing very little resistance with so much attention being paid to Yamal, and they’ll have to be efficient once again if and when the spaces open up due to Lamine’s gravity.
It’s remarkable that a 17-year-old can attract that much attention from an elite defensive team, but that’s just how good Lamine Yamal is. And hopefully his teammates are prepared to use that attention to their benefit and help Yamal lead Barça to a monster result in Italy and a place in the final.
