Dean Huijsen is regarded as a “top, top defender” by Premier League side Arsenal with the summer transfer window drawing nearer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
It has been a campaign to remember for Bournemouth who, with games to spare, have already secured a club-record points tally in the Premier League. Under the guidance of Andoni Iraola, the Cherries have become one of the most exciting teams to watch in the English top flight, playing a rapid style of football.
At the time of writing, Bournemouth are eighth in the Premier League. While distant dreams of a Champions League place have since faded, the club are still well-positioned to qualify for continental football, which would be a major achievement. This, combined with reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals, have made this season a brilliant one for the Cherries.
A large contributor to this success has been centre-back Dean Huijsen. Signed for just under £13 million in the summer, as per the BBC, the Spanish international has been a sensation in the Premier League. Still just 20 years old, Huijsen has shown composure on the ball, comfort in getting forward and possesses a brilliant passing range, all while being a great defender.

As per Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, Arsenal are in contact with Huijsen’s representatives, with the Gunners being one of a number of clubs to have registered an interest in the towering defender. Huijsen's form this season has seen him labelled as "incredible."
Much has been said about Huijsen’s release clause, which Arsenal will be more than aware of. In discussing the defender, Romano stated:
“Arsenal consider Dean Huijsen as a top, top defender and so also (are) in contact with the player side.”
It has been another season of battling for honours for Arsenal, though the North London side look set to finish second in the Premier League for what will be the third consecutive time. It feels as though the Gunners are just a player or two away from finally winning the English top flight again.
Of course, Arsenal already have William Saliba and Gabriel on their books, with both being some of the Premier League’s best defenders. Huijsen, however, is simply too talented, both currently and regarding his potential, to ignore. If Arsenal can get the deal over the line, it would be an exceptional addition.
