After last week’s exciting first leg, Barcelona travel to Italy to face Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium for the return leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.
The Catalan giants overcame a two-goal deficit to draw 3-3 at Montjuic with Inter Milan in what turned out to be a classic. Hansi Flick’s side shifted their focus to La Liga duties at the weekend and came from a goal down to beat rock-bottom Valladolid 2-1 away to maintain their four-point lead at the summit.
Now, the La Liga leaders will be aiming to give their best and qualify for the Champions League final whilst keeping their treble hopes under Flick alive.

Barcelona have been boosted by the return of their premium striker, Robert Lewandowski, after a four-game absence due to injury. He has been included in the squad for the trip to Inter.

However, Hansi Flick will be without his first-choice full-backs Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde due to injury.

Goalkeeper
Hansi Flick rotated his squad for the La Liga game against Valladolid at the weekend, and one of the changes was the return of Marc-Andre ter Stegen in goal from a long injury layoff. However, vastly experienced Wojciech Szczesny should retain his spot in the Barcelona lineup against Inter in midweek, hoping to produce a strong display.
Defence
The injury absences of full-backs Kounde and Balde will see Eric Garcia and Inigo Martinez take up their spots in defence. Pau Cubarsi, after being an unused substitute at Valladolid, will be recalled into the Barcelona lineup. The youngster is expected to partner Ronald Araujo in central defence.
The Barcelona backline have to be at their very best and avoid mistakes from last week to keep a fiery Inter attack quiet.
Midfield
Frenkie de Jong and Pedri should form the double pivot in the Barcelona engine room. They will try to take control of the game as quickly as possible and create opportunities for the attackers to do the damage.
Dani Olmo is the creative glue of this team, operating from the No.10 role. The Spanish international will look to get into pockets of spaces between the opposition’s midfield and defence and make life difficult for the hosts.
Attack
Lamine Yamal and Raphinha have been in scintillating form since the start of the season. The onus will be on the duo to stretch the Inter defence and provide service for the striker in the box.
Robert Lewandowski’s return from injury is a big plus for Barcelona, but Flick is expected to stick with Ferran Torres up top.
