Arsenal's biggest game of the season is just a matter of days away.
The Gunners travel to Paris on Wednesday as they face PSG in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg. The French giants did a job on Mikel Arteta's side in the first leg, with Ousmane Dembele scoring the only goal of the game to give Luis Enrique and his team the advantage.
Arteta had hoped to go into the clash with a win over Bournemouth, but the Cherries came away from Emirates Stadium with a 2-1 win on Saturday. PSG lost 2-1 themselves to Strasbourg but fielded a much-changed starting XI, whereas Arsenal went pretty much full strength.
"Well, we certainly wanted to create a really good vibe, a positive result would really help us to build what we wanted towards Wednesday," Arteta said after the 2-1 defeat on Saturday evening. "So, what we have created now is a lot of rage, anger, frustration and a bad feeling in the tummy. So, make sure that we use that for Wednesday to have a massive performance in Paris, win the game and be in the final."
It's highly possible Arteta will make a few changes to the side to take on PSG and Gunners know they must score to have any chance of making the final at the end of May. Below, football.london takes a look at the changes Arteta could make.
Timber for White
Ben White played 86 minutes for Arsenal against Bournemouth on the weekend and supported Bukayo Saka on the right flank well. Jurrien Timber was not named in the squad because of a knock picked up in the first leg against PSG and Arteta will be hoping the Dutchman can return to the side on Wednesday.
The Spaniard did admit he was not confident Timber would be available, but a lot will depend on the coming days and if the former Ajax man is available to train with his teammates. If fit, you would expect Timber to return to the side, with White dropping to the bench.
Merino for Trossard
Leandro Trossard struggled to have an impact against the Cherries with the Belgian tasked with leading the line. This meant Mikel Merino was rested from a role he has done so well in, although the Spaniard is expected to return to the team against PSG.
Merino offers a physical presence up top and is able to link play with the likes of Saka and Gabriel Martinelli well. He certainly knows where the net is, too, and will be hoping to score his ninth goal of the season against PSG.
Nwaneri for Odegaard
A change which may surprise some but may make sense. Martin Odegaard has struggled for form in recent weeks and while he did assist Declan Rice's goal against Bournemouth, the former Real Madrid man still looked a shadow of himself for the remainder of the game.
He is the captain of this Gunners team so it's doubtful he will drop to the bench against PSG, but replacing the Norwegian for Ethan Nwaneri is probably something Arteta has thought about. Starting the 18-year-old in Paris would be one hell of a statement, but it could well pay off.
