While Arsenal's full attention is on the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain, the Gunners are also preparing for a potentially busy summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta is aiming to finally guide his team to Premier League title glory next season. But for the Gunners to land the title, he will need additional firepower, especially in attack.
However, Arteta also faces a difficult task in retaining some of his star players. Real Madrid have identified William Saliba as their primary target for the summer as they seek to bolster their defensive options. Saliba is approaching the last two years of his contract, with Los Blancos keen to exploit the Frenchman's situation.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens has made an open appeal to the Gunners' bosses. Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at the latest Arsenal transfer news.
William Saliba price tag
William Saliba will cost Real Madrid a fee of £85million if they decide to pursue him this summer. The Frenchman has emerged as one of the world's best defenders and the Gunners are determined to retain him.

However, L'Equipe reports that Madrid have made the defender their 'priority target' for the upcoming window. It is suggested that Los Blancos have been in discussions for several weeks and believe negotiations are 'concrete'.
Saliba reportedly shares a 'special bond' with Real Madrid, but he's keen to avoid any conflict with his current club. The Gunners have not publicly disclosed a price tag for the player, but it's believed that an offer of £85m could tempt them into selling.
Jamie Gittens plea
Arsenal are now leading the race to sign Jamie Gittens, who has reportedly told his Borussia Dortmund teammates that he plans to leave. Gittens has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga since joining Dortmund in 2020.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Gittens has been contemplating a move for some time now. His aim is to return to England and earn a spot in Thomas Tuchel's Three Lions squad.
Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing him, and RN reports that they are currently 'ahead of the game'. Dortmund are said to be asking for around £50m for the 20-year-old, who reportedly sees Arsenal as his top choice.
Jorginho exit
Meanwhile, Flamengo's technical director Jose Boto has stated that they will only formally pursue Jorginho after Arsenal's season ends. The midfielder has been linked with a move to Brazil for some time, although Arsenal are also keen to offer him a new contract.

However, it seems the 33-year-old is set on joining Flamengo, with negotiations already at an advanced stage. Flamengo aim to secure his services before the Club World Cup, but Boto has stressed that they will take care in their pursuit.
The sporting director revealed to the Flazoeiro channel: "If Jorginho comes, it will be after the season in Europe ends. I hope it will be in time for the World Cup."
