Mikel Arteta handed huge Arsenal injury boost ahead of PSG Champions League clash

Jurrien Timber took part in Arsenal training ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg clash against PSG.

The Gunners will travel to Paris later on Tuesday ahead of the crucial match at the Parc de Princes on Wednesday night. Mikel Arteta's side trail 1-0 following Ousmane Dembele's goal at Emirates Stadium in the first leg last week.

The Arsenal squad trained at the Sobha Realty Training Centre on Tuesday morning and Timber was among the players who participated in the open training session. The Dutchman missed the weekend loss to Bournemouth because of a slight knock picked up in the first leg defeat to PSG last week.

After the defeat to the Cherries, Arteta admitted he was not confident the defender would be fit in time for the midweek clash against the French giants. Ben White started at right-back against Bournemouth but Timber now looks set to be in contention.

In a second boost to Arteta, Riccardo Calafiori returned to training on Tuesday and could even be involved against PSG. The Italian has not made an Arsenal matchday squad since the 1-0 win over Chelsea before the March international break after suffering a knee injury on international duty.

This is a breaking story. More as we get it...
