Arsenal handed Sane transfer deadline after Bayern star changes agent

Leroy Sane has reportedly been handed an ultimatum over his Bayern Munich future amid links with Arsenal.

The former Manchester City winger has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for some time as Mikel Arteta's team eyeing attacking reinforcements to boost their bid for silverware. It has been claimed that Sane has always held a desire to live and play in London, putting the Gunners on high-alert.

Bayern Munich are currently in talks to extend the 29-year-old's contract, which is due to end this summer. The 69-cap Germany international has netted 13 goals and provided five assists for Vincent Kompany's team this season so far - to help them reclaim the Bundesliga title.

But German publication BILD have reported that Bayern have told Sane that he has 10 days to sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena or leave the Bundesliga giants. The claim comes amid confirmation that the winger has recently switched agents to Pini Zahavi.

"It's true," the agent said via BILD's Tobi Altschaffl. "Leroy Sane has joined our agency and we are looking forward to working with him. We have a very good relationship with FC Bayern and the people involved.

"We are looking forward to the upcoming talks."

If Sane were to flat-out tell Bayern that he will be leaving the club upon the expiry of his deal this summer, that may prompt a transfer frenzy as they look to sign a replacement. Arsenal would also be able to sign the German international on a free, while Chelsea have also been mooted as a potential option.

Sane played 90 matches for City in the Premier League between 2016 and 2020. He won two titles at the Etihad Stadium, not to mention an FA Cup, two League Cups and the Community Shield for times.
