The Georgian forward will join the Blaugrana on a three-year contract, with the third year being optional and including a mutual release clause, according to Jose Ignacio Huguet and Lucas Clemente of Mundo Deportivo.

Sportando journalist Alessandro Luigi Maggi first reported Barca's interest in Shengelia last Sunday, and Mundo Deportivo has now confirmed that the deal is complete.

Shengelia, 34, is widely regarded as one of the top power forwards in Europe.

This season, he averaged 15.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 17.4 PIR per game in the EuroLeague with Virtus Bologna, where he has played for the past three seasons.

His contract with the Italian club expires in June.

Before joining Virtus, Shengelia enjoyed a successful six-year stint with Baskonia (2014–2020) and later played for CSKA Moscow (2020–2022).

The former NBA player was an All-EuroLeague First Team selection in 2018.
