Arsenal star teases surprise injury return as Mikel Arteta handed third major PSG boost

Arsenal could be handed a surprise injury boost heading into their Champions League clash against PSG.

The Gunners will meet PSG in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final this evening as they make the trip to the French capital. The Parc des Princes will host the second leg as Arsenal try to overturn a 1-0 deficit from their defeat at the Emirates Stadium last week.

Mikel Arteta will have several important decisions when selecting the side that will line-up against PSG to try to help Arsenal back into the tie and, ultimately, on to the Champions League final. Several members of the Arsenal squad will be unavailable for the clash in Paris, but one player could make a surprise return based on some recent activity on social media.

Jorginho has missed Arsenal's last six matches owing to injury and was not spotted in training on Tuesday before the squad travelled to Paris. Soon after the Gunners arrived in the French capital, though, the midfielder offered a hint that he could be involved in the much-anticipated fixture.

The Italy international, 32, posted a pre-match graphic on his Instagram story, which is often a hint that a player could feature in the subsequent match.

It remains to be seen if Jorginho is available to face PSG and whether or not the post from the Arsenal star is an indication that he will be part of their matchday squad in Paris.

Arteta was not asked about Jorginho's fitness on Tuesday pre-match, but did offer an update on the midfielder last week before Arsenal's defeat to Bournemouth. The Gunners head coach confirmed that Jorginho has not suffered a broken rib and is progressing in his recovery.

"It got a bit more complicated than expected," Arteta told reporters on May 2. "He's fine, he's recovering well."

Arsenal will already welcome two players back from injury for the clash against PSG. Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber both featured in training on Tuesday and travelled with the squad to Paris.

Calafiori has missed Arsenal's last nine matches with a knee injury he picked up during the international break. Timber was absent from the matchday squad for the defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend, but both are in contention to feature in the second leg against PSG.
