Mikel Arteta and Arsenal guaranteed to be without four stars against PSG

Arsenal will be without at least four players for the trip to PSG tonight - and Mikel Arteta is also sweating on the fitness of one more star man in his squad.

The Gunners head into the semi-final second leg a goal down after the first leg at the Emirates Stadium last week. Ousmane Dembele's strike early doors was the difference in north London - and leaves Arsenal with a mountain to climb at the Parc des Princes.

Arteta will be able to call upon Thomas Partey after he was suspended for the first leg while Riccardo Calafiori is ready to feature in the French capital. However, Jurrien Timber is a doubt to start, with Arteta explaining: "I will assess him today, whether he can start again or not."

If Timber is able to play any part for Arsenal, it will be a huge boost for the Gunners - but they already know that four players will be missing tonight. Gabriel Jesus picked up an ACL injury in the defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup which ended his season immediately.

Kai Havertz was forced to undergo hamstring surgery after picking up his injury in a warm-weather training camp in Dubai. The Gunners travelled to the Middle East to keep their fitness up after being knocked out by United.

Another victim of the dreaded hamstring injury was Gabriel Magalhaes. The Brazilian pulled up during the victory over Fulham in the Premier League, and Arsenal confirmed that his season was over shortly before the first leg win against Real Madrid.

Jorginho was all-set be absent for this second leg in Paris due to a punctured lung but unlike Gabriel, Havertz and Jesus, he could still return before the end of the season - with the player himself hinting that could be as soon as tonight. Meanwhile, Takehiro Tomiyasu is also set to miss out again with his knee issue which has reduced him to just six minutes of football this season.
