Mohamed Salah shows true colours with PSG message ahead of Arsenal Champions League clash

Ahead of Arsenal's crunch Champions League semi-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain, it has been revealed Liverpool's Mohamed Salah told the French club's stars to 'go and win' the competition.

The Gunners are in Paris tonight to settle the score in Europe once and for all. They will either be dumped out of the Champions League or in a blaze of glory reach Munich's final, where they would meet Inter Milan.

It remains the only chance of silverware Mikel Arteta and Co. now have this season, a fact that was confirmed when Liverpool won the Premier League title last month.

And now it would turn out that one of the champions' ranks has previously wished Arsenal's semi-final opponents well in their efforts to be crowned Europe's top side.

Interviewed by France Football via L'Equipe, Salah reflected on Liverpool's round of 16 defeat at the hands of PSG. His side were knocked out after a 1-1 draw over two legs and extra-time was settled by a penalty shootout at Anfield.

"In this match, everything was 50/50. Who deserved to qualify more? No one could say. We had a very good second leg, they had a very good first leg," the Egyptian recalled.

"And you lose on penalties... sometimes it's your day. Sometimes it's mine. It was their day.

"No one would say, 'They deserved it 100 percent!' No.

"The first leg, yes. The second, no. It's the same for us. The second leg, yes. The first, no.

"It was their day and I shook the players' hands afterward, I said to them: 'Congratulations, go win it!' and that was it.

"We were in great form all season, and in March alone, we had a bit of a slump."

So, Liverpool's top scorer has not directly wished upon Arsenal's downfall to PSG in the same manner his team suffered, it would be more a consequence of the sportsman's comment he displayed on that March night.

That is as long as Arteta's side do not rally together and fight back from the one-goal deficit they suffered at the Emirates Stadium first leg meeting eight days ago.
