Rio Ferdinand will not be on the TNT Sports team for PSG vs Arsenal.
Rio Ferdinand has issued a statement explaining why he will not be covering Paris Saint Germain vs Arsenal.
On Wednesday night, the Gunners will arrive at the Parc des Princes looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit and seal a place in the Champions League final.
The much-anticipated match will be broadcast live on TNT Sports, but Ferdinand will not be a part of the commentary team.
Ferdinand has been a part of TNT Sports' commentary team in the Champions League this season, often appearing alongside Darren Fletcher and Ally McCoist.
However, he will not be present this time around.
Taking to social media, the former Manchester United and England star posted a picture of himself and wrote: "Gutted to be missing the Semi-Finals this week on @footballontnt!!
"Wishing the team all the best — I’ll be watching every minute from the iPad!"
In response, the Football on TNT Sports social media account wrote: "Get well soon, Rio."
Ferdinand was also on media duty for United's 3-0 Europa League semi-final first leg win over Athletic Club at the San Mames last week, but is now unlikely to be on the mic when the pair face off at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
