[Rio Ferdinand](https://www.football.london/all-about/rio-ferdinand) has confirmed he will not feature on TNT Sports for [Arsenal's trip to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/fixtures-results/psg-vs-arsenal-live-kick-31591264) after he was admitted to hospital.
The former Manchester United defender, 46, has been a firm fixture on TNT's Champions League coverage this season and was set to line up as part of the commentary team for Wednesday's semi-final second leg at the Parc des Princes. However, Ferdinand will not be present in Paris.
This is because Ferdinand is in hospital. He issued an update on his Instagram account a matter of hours before kick-off in France.
Ferdinand said: "Gutted to be missing the Semi-Finals this week on @tntsportsfootball! Wishing the team all the best — I'll be watching every minute from the iPad!" alongside a handshake emoji and a love heart emoji.
In response, the Football on TNT Sports social media account wrote: "Get well soon, Rio."
TNT Sports presenter Becky Ives added: "We miss you!!! Get well soon!" alongside a white love heart emoji.
Pop singer Olly Murs said: "Won’t be the same without ya Rio! Rest up," alongside a flexed bicep emoiji.
Jeff Brazier commented: "Get well soon," while Abbey Clancy, the wife of ex-Tottenham and Liverpool ace Peter Crouch, continued: "Hope your ok," alongside a love heart emoji.
A number of others wished Ferdinand well following his admission to hospital and it's unclear when the United legend is set to return to work and be back for TNT.
As for Arsenal, it's a massive night for Arteta and his team. They head to PSG looking to overturn the 1-0 deficit from the first leg and progress through to the Champions League final later this month.
