Arsenal and Newcastle United are in the picture to sign UD Las Palmas’ Alberto Moleiro in the summer window.
That’s according to Orgullo Biri, who state both Arsenal and Newcastle are following the winger closely.
Operating mainly on the left wing, he’s managed six goals and an assist from 32 league games for a struggling La Liga side.
The 21-year-old’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed in the Premier League where the Gunners and Eddie Howe’s side are interested. He has less than 14 months left on his contract, which has a €60m release clause.
Moleiro’s desire has always been to succeed in Spain, but the report states Arsenal and Newcastle could ‘change the course of his future’ with their ambitious projects.
The Premier League duo would have to make a convincing offer to convince Las Palmas to sanction the Spain U21 international’s sale in the upcoming window. This indicates the operation can be carried out for a fee lower than his €60m clause.
For now, Arsenal and Newcastle are only following the attacker closely. There isn’t any suggestion yet of them taking further steps to sign him.
