Referee named for El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid in LaLiga

The Spanish Football Federation have appointed referee Alejandro Jose Hernandez Hernandez as the man in charge of Sunday’s decisive El Clasico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in Montjuic.

This will be the fifth Clasico for Hernandez. Real Madrid have two draws, one win and one loss with him in charge of these games.

Needless to say, this upcoming Clasico will be Madrid’s last chance of competing for the 2024-25 La Liga title. Ancelotti and his men need the three points in order to stay alive in the race for the trophy, and then they would have to wait for Barcelona to drop points at least once more time before the end of the season.

As always, Hernandez Hernandez will be under a lot of pressure in this game, so it will be interesting to see how he decides to officiate El Clasico in what’s expected to be an intense and physical match.
