Excited Chelsea fans think Behdad Eghbali was scouting£38m PSG man after being spotted watching Arsenal

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali will be hoping to watch the Blues in the Champions League next season.

This term, with Chelsea not in the competition, Eghbali has not needed to be at Stamford Bridge on a Tuesday or Wednesday night.

That was the case this Wednesday, allowing the Chelsea co-owner to attend Paris Saint-Germain’s second-leg tie against Arsenal in the Champions League semi-finals.

Eghbali was spotted at the Parc des Princes, and some Chelsea fans think they know why. Eghbali is one of three key figures at Chelsea who will be making the big transfer decisions at the club this summer.

Chelsea fans think Behdad Eghbali was on Bradley Barcola scouting mission

Chelsea will be in the market for a new attacker this summer. It is thought that Chelsea have an interest in Jamie Gittens and a few others.

And some Chelsea supporters now believe that PSG’s Bradley Barcola could also be on the club’s shortlist after catching Eghbali at the Parc des Princes.

One Chelsea fan made his opinion very clear, posting on X: “Barcola scouting…”

Another Chelsea supporter simply tweeted “Barcola” with the pair of eyes emoji.

Another Blues fan on X wrote: “He’s come to scout Barcola.”

One Chelsea supporter is very optimistic about the 22-year-old joining, tweeting: “Welcome, Barcola.”

Eghbali was practically begged by another fan to bring in Barcola. They wrote: “Please tell me it’s for Barcola or [Desire] Doue.”

Barcola and PSG were able to reach the Champions League final after beating Arsenal 3-1 over the two legs. It means Mikel Arteta’s men will finish another season trophyless.

Chelsea have targeted Bradley Barcola in the past

If Chelsea register an interest in signing Barcola this summer, it would not be the first time.

In 2023, it was reported that Chelsea held talks to sign Barcola when the Frenchman was still at Lyon. A deal was never completed, though, and PSG would go on to sign Barcola from their Ligue 1 rivals for €45m (£38m) instead.

Scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists in the French league this season, if you are Chelsea, then Barcola is one that got away.
