Arsenal have confirmed that Khayon Edwards has received a nomination for the Premier League 2’s Player of the Season award, with the winner to be confirmed at the Premier League Academy Awards evening on Tuesday, May 13th.

The Premier League themselves haven’t confirmed all the nominees just yet, so it’s not clear who Edwards is up against. But the 21-year-old has certainly had a positive campaign in youth football.

Looking solely at the Premier League 2 regular season and play-offs, Edwards scored 12 goals and assisted three in 19 games for the Arsenal u21s in 2024/25.

That included a brace against the Manchester United u21s, as well as a goal against league runners-up Fulham. It also includes goals in both of Arsenal’s play-off games, with the quarter-final goal coming against regular season champions Manchester City.

Jeorge Bird reported in April that Edwards is set to leave Arsenal this summer, with interest in his signature from clubs in England and Europe.

With the Arsenal u21s now out of the play-offs, their season is at an end. So unless Edwards gets a surprise senior debut in the next three games, it’s likely he’s played his last minutes in an Arsenal shirt.
