How Alejandro Garnacho feels about joining Chelsea from Manchester United - journalist

In 2025, Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho has been frequently linked with a potential move to Chelsea.

Even though there’s already a lot of attacking talent at Chelsea right now, Man Utd winger Alejandro Garnacho, 20, is mentioned as a Blues target.

The Argentine forward has been instrumental for Man Utd this campaign, scoring 11 goals and creating 10 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca wanted to sign Alejandro Garnacho in January, midway through this season, but the player stayed put at Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho would be keen on joining Chelsea

Transfer insider Graeme Bailey has exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that Garnacho is one of the wingers on the Blues’ transfer radar, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.

He said: “Garnacho is very much still on Chelsea’s radar – they are looking for someone to operate from that left side and they have done work on a lot of names.

“I am told that the three at the top of their list are currently Jamie Gittens, Nico Williams and Garnacho.

“Williams is tough and to be honest I think as it stands is unlikely to come to England and if he does, am not sure Chelsea are top of his list.

“Gittens is different, we know Chelsea are working on him, we know they are in talks and trying to do something, but they are not alone with Arsenal also in the mix.

“And Chelsea are not set on one target and Garnacho is someone they like a lot, they tried to sign him in January. They know the player is keen on the move. And he is a huge talent, they think he would be a good fit. He seems to have been around forever but he is still just 20.

“Can you imagine a Garnacho, Palmer and Estevao trio behind their striker… Chelsea’s hierarchy clearly can.”

Chelsea fans will be intrigued to hear that Garnacho would be keen on a possible move to Stamford Bridge.

On paper, the 20-year-old rising star fits the profile of signings made under the current Blues ownership.

Manchester United could want £65m for Alejandro Garnacho, so let’s wait and see if Enzo Maresca’s side make a move in the upcoming summer transfer window.

How Alejandro Garnacho compares to Chelsea’s wingers in the Premier League

At the moment, Chelsea do have some talented wide players competing for a spot in the starting XI. It’s worth remembering that Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian is on his way to London in the summer, too.

Garnacho, who can play anywhere across the forward line, is a dynamic attacker with great pace and trickery.

Let’s take a look at how the Man Utd youngster compares to Chelsea’s main wingers in the 2024/25 season:

Like Chelsea’s players, we put Garnacho in the bracket of a super talented youngster with a very high ceiling. However, he’s still very much a work in progress and will make mistakes as he continues to develop.
