Arsenal vs. Manchester United: Team News & Possible Line-ups

The possible line-ups are derived from previous match days. We take into consideration how strong the opponents are, what players are injured and of course team news before the match.

Team News Arsenal

Renée Slegers on team news: “So, we have three players not available and that’s Daphne van Domselaar, Lina Hurtig and Katie Reid. Everyone else is in contention.”

What the coach has to say:

On losing two consecutive games: “Two different games. I think the first one you see clearly that we come away from mental, physical, and emotional investments and short-term travelling. So we understand where it comes from, but then, we’re still learning how to do better in those moments. The second game is different.

“I think we created a lot. I think what Brighton does really well is find the right moments in the game to score their goals. So I think they’re very different. Of course, we’ve been looking at it and what we want to do better and what the big learnings are for us. But we also know that we can get back to our best and we’re at our best.”

On Manchester United’s defensive records: “Yeah, I know they have a very impressive record. So, very well done by them as a team. The way they set up and, of course, a great goalkeeper as well. We see opportunities, of course, like any other team we play against, so I won’t share those details right here, right now.

But I think we are really good at finding ways to score goals. Systematically, but also with individual qualities. And we’ve shown that against Lyon, for example, who had conceded very little before. But we know it’s going to be hard work tomorrow to find those opportunities. And we respect their defence.”

Team News Manchester United

Marc Skinner with a squad update: “Rach [Williams] we are currently assessing. Hopefully, she could be back to play some part in the FA Cup but won’t be in this game. Jayde [Riviere] came out the game the other day. She won’t be in this game on the weekend. We’re going to see what it looks like for the final. But there is some irritation around her ankle. We’ll obviously assess and see if she’s ready to play or not but definitely won’t make the weekend.

“Apart from that, everybody else is fit and healthy.”

What the coach has to say:

Marc Skinner on the learnings from the previous game against Arsenal: “Resilience. We weren’t as brave in possession as we are now, and we were still finding who we were. It was day and night between what we’ll expect on Saturday versus what we got from that game. From my perspective, I felt we were at times too passive but resilient enough to get a result out of it.”

Maya Le Tissier added: “At the start of the season we didn’t really have an identity and how we wanted to play. That happened with the players that we brought in, new players, and I think we played Arsenal quite early on.”
