Legendary football coach Bill Belichick, who recently became the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels after a year off from the NFL, has been in the headlines a lot recently as a result of his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson. On Friday, the two were in the news again.
After a clip from an awkward CBS interview went viral last month, Belichick and Hudson have been the subject of a lot of media buzz and speculation which reached a new level on Friday when Pablo Torre reported on his podcast that Hudson had been banned from the North Carolina football facilities.
"Two sources at the University of North Carolina tell me that there has been a decision that was made last week by the higher-ups inside the athletic department that had hired Bill Belichick to be the highest paid public employee - not just coach in the state of North Carolina at $10 million a year - and that decision was that Jordon Hudson, she is no longer allowed in the football building," Torre said via Awful Announcing. "She is not allowed on the football field. Quote: ‘Don't think you'll be hearing much from Jordon moving forward.'"
Torre went on to explain that Belichick's family has begun to express concern about their relationship.
"Bill Belichick's family is extraordinarily concerned by what has transpired. One Belichick family source told me, ‘There is deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill's legacy, reputation - everything he has built and worked for over decades.'"
"In fact, the family has been digging into Jordon Hudson as well," he added.

Following this report, North Carolina issued a statement that appeared to refute Torre's reporting – at least on the surface.
"While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities," North Carolina said in a statement via Chris Vannini of The Athletic. "Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick's personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University."
However, as noted NFL insider and former lawyer Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk points out, this statement is actually quite telling as a few words in it suggest that it might not be refuting Torre's reporting at all.
"While the development will be regarded by some as a refutation of Pablo Torre's reporting, this seems to be a carefully worded potato/potahto situation. Especially since the statement begins by pointing out that Hudson "is not an employee" of the school," Florio wrote on Friday.
"While she surely hasn't been told that visiting Belichick at work would amount to trespass, she quite possibly has been told that, as someone who isn't employed by North Carolina football, she should not be working for North Carolina football. No more emails. No more meetings. No more anything that an employee would be doing on behalf of the football program."
It will certainly be interesting to see how often we see Hudson involved in North Carolina activities in the future.
