Como head coach and former Barcelona star Cesc Fàbregas has this week confirmed his side’s ongoing interest in the signature of a member of the defensive ranks at the Camp Nou.
The player in question? Eric García.
The name of versatile defender Eric of course took its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital during this year’s January transfer window.
This came amid intense speculation surrounding an impending Barcelona exit for the former Manchester City man.
One such club to have expressed a keen interest in Eric were the aforementioned Como, who, at one point, appeared to have a deal for his services all but tied up.

Como were very close to getting deal done on Monday and Girona wanted him too… but Eric decided to stay following direct talk with Flick and Deco.

In the end, the 24-year-old stayed put, since playing an increasingly prominent role in Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana squad.
Speaking to the media on Friday, though, Cesc Fàbregas was not shy in admitting that he and his staff remain keen admirers of Eric.
In quotes relaid by Mundo Deportivo, Como’s headmaster admitted:
“I confirm our interest in Barcelona’s Eric Garcia. I really like him: he’s versatile, a leader, and important for the team. But he’ll stay at Barcelona.”
