The Los Angeles Rams rookie class has their numbers picked out already. One, however, is choosing to honor a fallen teammate though his number choice.
Second round selection Terrance Ferguson went with No. 18. But not because it was the number available to him. The Oregon tight end is honoring a fallen teammate.
Ferguson played for the Ducks alongside Spencer Webb. The Dixon, Ca., native Webb, however, tragically died in a cliff diving accident near Triangle Lake, Oregon. Webb was only 22 when he died during July 2022.

Webb caught a 20-yard touchdown pass for his first career score in 2019. That TD came during a time Justin Herbert lined up for the Ducks offense. Webb ended that season catching 18 passes for 209 yards and scoring three times. Oregon finished 12-2 that season as a Pac-12 member.
The 6-foot-6 Webb got limited to one game during the truncated 2020 season following an injury during fall camp leading into that campaign. He helped lead Oregon to the road upset of Ohio State in the 2021 season, even catching a 30-yard pass that game. Webb went on to catch 31 career passes for 296 yards and scored four touchdowns.
Ferguson played one season in Eugene alongside Webb. That was for the 2021 campaign. The Ducks TE played the next three seasons as one of the main targets for Oregon. Ferguson collected 134 career passes for 1,537 yards and scored 16 touchdowns across his four seasons.
Now, Ferguson carries the memory of his fallen college teammate with him inside the "Rams House."
