CHICAGO (KCTV) - Former Missouri star wideout Luther Burden won’t be donning his familiar No. 1 when he begins his NFL career this fall.
Burden, who was a second-round pick by the Chicago Bears in this April’s NFL Draft, elected to wear No. 87.
As for his reasoning for the new digits?
“All the good numbers are gone,” [he joked to reporters on Friday](https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1920900031835480135).
Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson already wears No. 1, which Burden wore during his three seasons at Mizzou. The Bears franchise has 14 retired numbers, significantly cutting into his options.
