Manchester United might have one more consequential game of the season remaining but they are looking at a scenario where they lose out on a top target because Arsenal are making moves.
Unlike Man Utd, who are still competing for a trophy this season, Arsenal’s season is over and the best they can do is finish second to Liverpool.
It has led to a quickening in transfer business for the Gunners and that spells trouble for Ruben Amorim because the top clubs buy in the same elite pool of players.
Reports say that Arsenal have launched their first ‘official’ bid for one of those elite players and he’s someone Amorim has already sent a message to.

Arsenal make move for Man Utd target
Manchester United are close to signing Matheus Cunha, while the signing of Enzo Kana-Biyik has already received Fabrizio Romano’s “Here We Go”.
The next step in the market is likely to be for a striker and the names of Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen have generated the most headlines.
Many top clubs need a striker in the upcoming summer which is why there’s expected to be a brutal transfer race for the same pool of players.
Arsenal seem to have decided the horse they’d like to bet on, as Portuguese outlet Correio de Manha reports that they’ve launched the first ‘official’ bid for Viktor Gyokeres.

The Sporting hitman is sure to leave Portugal this summer and his leap under Amorim made United a natural destination for him.
However, Gyokeres to Man Utd hasn’t seemed likely for a while now, especially after Amorim’s public message hinted at him that was as direct as it could be without naming anybody.
Man Utd need to move quickly for a striker
Gyokeres is obviously a superstar talent but it seems like United moved on from the Swede earlier, and it would be a surprise if he didn’t go to Arsenal now.
Having said that, United do need a striker urgently and the market is heating up so they need to identify their top target quickly and start moving.
Liam Delap’s transfer race is seeing new teams join it all the time, while Victor Osimhen is a dream but an extremely expensive one at that.
Then there are options who have flown under the radar, like Jonathan David or Jonathan Burkardt, but they haven’t made as much noise so the interest is likely to be a smokescreen.
No matter who it is, getting a new striker through the doors in the summer is crucial. United cannot let the Gyokeres blow derail their plans.
Next man up mentality is key and they need to move quickly to get their man, whoever it is.
