Only three active quarterbacks signed to a team in the NFL have won a Super Bowl.
League MVP Patrick Mahomes, aging veteran Matthew Stafford, and Philadelphia Eagles franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The MVP of Super Bowl LIX, Hurts has grown from a flawed passer to one of the best leaders and passers in the game today. Despite continued doubts around the league, Hurts' status as a superstar in the league remains unchallenged.
Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon rated him as the fifth-best quarterback in the league to boot.
"He may be far from your typical franchise quarterback, and it's fair to wonder just how effective he'd be without such a dominant supporting cast, but Jalen Hurts has become one of the most uniquely productive offensive players in the sport," Gagnon wrote. "The 26-year-old may have thrown just 18 regular-season touchdown passes, but he was a top-five-rated passer who scored 14 times as a rusher and generated more than 600 rushing yards and double-digit rushing touchdowns for the fourth year in a row."
Too many fans and analysts believe Hurts is only a product of the talent around him. Those same people overlook the fact that he has yet to have a losing season as a starting quarterback.
That's something Joe Burrow and Josh Allen haven't been able to do. Unlike Lamar Jackson, Hurts has been to multiple Super Bowls. Hurts is the only active quarterback to best Mahomes on the game's biggest stage.
There are more gifted quarterbacks in the league. That is obvious.
But not many quarterbacks have Hurts' success both on and off the field. And that makes his fifth ranking pretty fair on the active list.
