Rangers are set for a busy summer as the 49ers take charge at Ibrox.
The American investment group, led by Paraag Marathe and Andrew Cavenagh are set to overhaul the Gers on and off the pitch.
They have identified midfield as an issue, with the long-term futures of Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande in Govan hanging in the balance, with interest expected to come from south of the border in the summer transfer window.

Rangers ready Metinho bid
The Gers need more steel in the engine room, whether Barry Ferguson is in the dugout or they decide to replace him.
A report from the Scottish Sun (10 May) reports that 49ers Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh have placed Troyes star Metinho, who is on loan at Basel, at the top of their target list for the summer window.

It is understood that Metinho, 22, would cost £4million with clubs in the English Championship also keen on him.
It states that the midfielder has been dubbed as the ‘Brazilian Pogba’ and that the Govan outfit face competition from English Championship clubs for the “outstanding” ace.

49ers set to start the new era at Rangers
The 49ers have a huge task when their takeover is confirmed with a huge squad overhaul needed if the Gers are to compete with Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have already wrapped up the Scottish Premiership title and boasts a 20-point gap, albeit Ferguson’s side have a game in hand against Aberdeen (11 May).
Scottish Premiership Played GD Points
C. Celtic 36 +82 88
2. Rangers 35 +33 68
The gap between Celtic and Rangers is very big.
One of the major requirements for the new owners is a squad revamp, as it is clearly not good enough to catch their Glasgow rivals at the moment.
The deal for the Brazilian sensation is exactly the kind of deal that the Auchenhowie outfit should be making, continuing their recruitment strategy of scouring underappreciated markets for hidden gems.
That approach has already paid off recently, with the emergence of the likes of Diomande, Raskin, Hamza Igamane and Jefte, who could all leave for a hefty profit in the offseason.
Bringing top talents through the door, to eventually sell them on for a huge markup, is the way that the Gers should operate going forward, it should eventually allow them to catch the Hoops, if they get it right.
