The Houston Texans took some position players on offense from the 2025 NFL draft. Their first pick in the draft came in the second round, where they got wide receiver Jayden Higgins of the Iowa State Cyclones.
The Texans also selected wide receiver Jaylin Smith of the USC Trojans in the fourth round. Houston then took another USC product in its next pick, selecting running back Woody Marks as the draft’s 116th selection overall.
Marks played his first four years in the college ranks with the Mississippi State Bulldogs before transferring in 2024 to the Trojans. With USC, Marks rushed for a career-high 1,133 yards and nine touchdowns on 198 carries for an average of 5.7 yards per rushing attempt. In addition, he had 47 receptions for 321 receiving yards.

Fans have lots of reactions to the announcement.
“Texans fans are gonna love him in the pass game”
“One of the biggest steals in the draft. Kid has heart…”
“Woody got hurt during every single game at State. He would always find a way back on to the field later in the game. Warrior and a Dawg.”
“Will probably be a 3rd down back initially, but I bet he can immediately fully carry the load if Mixon gets hurt.”
“You will not be disappointed. Hard nose runner. Can catch the ball well out of the backfield.”
“He is a baller so congrats✌️”
According toJosh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Mark’s contract is a four-year rookie deal. Marks was one of two players the Texans drafted this year without a contract before he finally signed with the AFC South division franchise.
