Bills Josh Allen Disrespected In Latest Rankings

Buffalo Bills franchise quarterback Josh Allen may be considered one of the best signal-callers in the league right now, but not everyone can agree on where his official ranking should be.

The reigning league MVP is coming off his final season yet and single-handedly led the Bills to their second conference championship game appearance since he was drafted in 2018.

Despite the award and playoff numbers, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports believes Allen is just the fifth-best quarterback in the league right now.

"The reigning MVP is coming off his most efficient season while operating with a new-look receiving group. Like Lamar Jackson, another AFC superhero, he's just yet to escape the Chiefs' shadow," Benjamin wrote.

On Benjamin's list ahead of Allen includes Patrick Mahomes, Super Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow. Many people will look at the analysts' list like blasphemy. As good as Hurts has been in his career, he simply is not the athlete that Allen has been throughout his career.

The Bills' star has also beaten Jackson in the playoffs multiple times now as well.

So why exactly is Allen behind some of these quarterbacks on the active list right now?

The reality is that so long as Allen continues to lose to Mahomes and the Chiefs in the playoffs, the more his legacy will take a hit at this point. And it means the Bills will have a quarterback still playing with a chip on his shoulder for years to come.
