Rangers could make a move for former star Russell Martin as their new manager, according to reports - with the Scottish Premiership club set to step up their search for a new gaffer after their season once again came to an end with no silverware to their name.
Martin joined Rangers on loan in the 2017-18 campaign, featuring 17 times at Ibrox before moving to the lower English leagues to end his playing career - but as one of the UK's most promising young bosses, the door has potentially been opened for him to return to Glasgow in the coming weeks.

The report by The Telegraph states that Rangers have curated a long list of managerial candidates as they step up their search for replace Philippe Clement - with Martin making the list for a potential return to Ibrox.

Clement was sacked in February after a shocking run in the Scottish Premiership saw them 13 points behind rivals Celtic, with that deficit being 18 points at one stage - and that saw the Belgian depart.
Club legend Barry Ferguson has come to the helm, but he's failed to make a massive impact at Ibrox despite beating the Hoops away from home - and that will see Rangers begin the process of finding a new long-term boss, with Martin wanting the job.
The shortlist of potential new bosses is in double-figure territory, with Martin being on said list after his efforts at MK Dons, Swansea City and Southampton - where he could return to Ibrox after a loan spell there in 2018.
Martin impressed massively at MK Dons with a superb passing style of play, with his side only being ousted by Manchester City and Barcelona in terms of average possession across his first full-season as boss. That led to a move to Swansea, where he once again impressed with a top-half finish in South Wales, when Southampton came calling - and a performance against City saw Pep Guardiola label him as 'exceptional'.
It saw Martin win his first trophy as a boss, clinching the Championship play-off title with the Saints a year ago at Wembley - but having been sacked since, it means that he's available and Rangers could look to take advantage of that.
