Philadelphia Eagles defensive backs Reed Blankenship and Cooper DeJean are taking their chemistry to the airwaves with the launch of their new podcast, "Exciting Mics." The duo announced the show on their respective Instagram pages, also creating a dedicated account for the podcast, which is set to debut on May 15.
Just three months ago, Blankenship hinted at this move, telling the Philadelphia Inquirer, "I'm thinking about starting a little podcast." Now, that idea has become a reality, with Blankenship and DeJean promising to provide fans with an insider's perspective on life as young defensive backs in the NFL. The show will blend humor, locker room stories, and conversations over glasses of white wine – a nod to their shared "Exciting Whites" nickname, which originated from a playful meme and gained traction during the Eagles' Super Bowl parade.
DeJean and Blankenship’s friendship blossomed quickly after the Eagles selected DeJean in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. With Blankenship already established as a leader in the secondary, he took DeJean under his wing, guiding him through life in Philadelphia. The bond grew stronger through shared meals, golf outings, and even a shopping trip to the King of Prussia Mall to find DeJean cowboy boots.
Their camaraderie was evident throughout the Eagles’ Super Bowl run, with DeJean making history by becoming the first player to record a pick-six in a Super Bowl on his birthday, while Blankenship solidified his role as a defensive leader.
The groundwork here has been put down by Jason (the Eagles ex) and Travis (the Chiefs star) Kelce, the brothers act with their "New Heights'' podcast that is among the most popular production of its kind.
The podcast will likely feature guest appearances from Eagles teammates and other NFL stars, giving fans a unique look at life in the league. According to DeJean's Instagram story, the first episode drops on May 15, giving fans an opportunity to hear the "Exciting Whites" like never before.
