Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya was quick to pay his congratulations to Liverpool No 1 Alisson following the Premier League success at Anfield. The Reds have set the pace domestically and recently wrapped up the top flight title.
The Gunners had been their closest challengers, albeit they struggled to get close enough to put any real pressure on Arne Slot and his side. As a result Liverpool were crowned champions with several games remaining but there has been no ill-feeling from Raya.
He went over to his fellow goalkeeper during the warm-up and offered his congratulations in front of the Kop despite the north Londoners being disappointed to miss out, once again.
Alisson was among the Reds' players who claimed the title back in 2020 and has now won the top flight for the second time. The Brazilian broke down in tears at full-time when they confirmed Premier League success with a win over Tottenham recently.
Arsenal headed to Anfield on Sunday afternoon and, despite them being rivals, chose to give Liverpool a Guard of Honour as they walked out. It has become customary for the champions to be recognised, but the gesture isn't compulsory.

Arteta's side could end up finishing second for the third successive season. The Spaniard has had to defend his trophy record with the ex-Manchester City assistant not claiming any silverware since winning the FA Cup 2020, but was keen to underline how Arsenal's points total would've been enough to make them champions in recent years.
He said: "Winning trophies is about being in the right moment in the right place. Liverpool have won the title with less points than we have in the last two seasons. With the points of the past two season we have two Premier League [titles]."

Arteta has moved to explain the reasons for Arsenal's failings this season. The north Londoners have drawn 14 times with the Spaniard also bemoaning their injury record as well as the amount of red cards they've had to cop.
He said: “One is the amount of games and time that we have played with 10 men, and then the availability of the squad throughout the 38 games. It’s very, very difficult to manage and to have very strong performance consistently. We dropped a lot of points, we dropped a lot of points when we were ahead as well which is something that really needs to improve.”
