Arsenal have submitted an offer to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Freddy Bernal, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are set for a busy summer transfer window as they look to go one step further next season and win the Premier League. Arsenal fell short to Liverpool in the title race, and they will be desperate to bring in reinforcements to take their side to the next level.
Arsenal could also look to improve their academy sides as they aim to bring in young talents from around the world with high potential and sell-on value. Mikel Arteta has often given opportunities to young players, with the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly becoming regulars at the Emirates Stadium.

According to Italian journalist Romano, Arsenal have seen a £1.25m bid rejected for Chelsea youngster Bernal, with the Blues rejecting the offer. Several clubs remain interested, but Chelsea want to keep the England U18 international.
Bernal, described as 'superb' by Chelsea Youth, has trained with the first team at Stamford Bridge but predominantly plays in the academy sides. The youngster is still only 16 years old, but Arsenal have clearly seen something in the goalkeeper to try and prise him away from their London rivals.
It might take an offer of more than £1.25m for Chelsea to be tempted, with the Blues seemingly wanting to keep him at the club.
