Latest news and rumours from around the Premier League including Everton, Leeds United, Arsenal and Brighton
Liverpool already have the title in the bag and will hope to retain their crown next season amid expected competition from the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal. At the other end of the table, Ipswich Town, Southampton and Leicester City have made way for Leeds United, Burnley and whoever wins the play-offs. Teams across the country are gearing up for the next transfer window.
With that in mind, Everton are ‘unlikely’ to sanction the sale of Leeds target Beto this summer, as per the Liverpool Echo. The 27-year-old has emerged on the radar of the Whites following their promotion from the Championship. However, the Toffees want to keep hold of him.
Beto, who has been with Udinese in the past, has managed to find his shooting boots in this campaign. He has scored eight league goals for the Merseyside outfit. The forward remains under contract and appears to be not for sale.
The 3AM Verdict: Keeping hold of Beto would be a smart move by Everton. You can see why Leeds United are admirers as he is a handful at the top end of the pitch and they need to boost their attacking options. However, they may need to look elsewhere for players in his position and they have plenty of time.
Arsenal eye Malick Fofana swoop
According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal are ‘looking’ at a deal for Lyon winger Malick Fofana. The Gunners are in need of some attacking reinforcements to boost their ranks. The report adds that rivals such as Liverpool, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also in the frame, along with PSG and Juventus.
Fofana, 20, has a bright future ahead of him in the game and his current club will face a battle to keep hold of him. The Belgium international, who has one cap under his belt, moved to France in 2024 and has since scored 15 goals in 60 games. Prior to his switch to Ligue 1, he caught the eye in Belgium at Gent.
The 3AM Verdict: Malick Fofana is a player with a lot of potential and could be a useful long-term option for Arsenal if they managed to get him. He is young, has room to develop and has already played a decent amount of games. Renowned for his blistering pace and impressive dribbling ability, he could go down a storm in the Premier League. There are other teams in the frame though meaning the Gunners will have to see off interest from elsewhere.
Brighton and Hove Albion latest regarding James Beadle
Brighton and Hove Albion ‘could’ loan out James Beadle again following his return from Sheffield Wednesday, as per SussexWorld. The Seagulls are weighing up what to do next with the goalkeeper. He remains under contract at the AMEX Stadium until June 2028.
Beadle, 20, was loaned out twice to the Owls and played a combined 57 matches during his time in South Yorkshire. The stopper has also had temporary stints in the past at Crewe Alexandra and Oxford United to boost his development. He rose up through the academy ranks at Charlton Athletic before his transfer to the top flight.
The 3AM Verdict: James Beadle is unlikely to break into Brighton’s first-team at the moment so another loan would do him good. He needs to be getting regular minutes following his spells at Sheffield Wednesday. The England youth international has got a lot of experience for someone of his age and is a good option to second tier clubs this summer.
