Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has played down the severity of the injury that Leny Yoro sustained during the 2-0 defeat to West Ham at the weekend.
The 19-year-old was forced off the pitch just 7 minutes into the second half. He went down off the ball before heading to the sidelines without the assistance of medical staff. Askes about Yoro’s fitness in his post-match press conference, Amorim replied:
“We will assess the player but I think it is a small thing. We hope it’s nothing serious.”

The fact that Yoro was pictured leaving Old Trafford without a protective boot is promising but he was visibly limping.
Will Yoro return for the Europa League final?
Amorim’s comments and the fact that Yoro left the pitch on his own volition does suggest that the centre-half was replaced as a precaution. There is no point risking his fitness in a fixture that had very little riding on it.
It’s very unlikely that the teenager will play against Chelsea on Friday night but there is still the best part of 10 days before the clash versus Tottenham in Spain.
At the moment, you would expect Yoro will be named in the matchday squad, unless a more serious problem is flagged in subsequent medical assessments.
Will any other injured United players be available to face Spurs?
Matthijs de Ligt is expected to win his fitness battle. The Dutchman picked up a knee problem during the 4-3 defeat to Brentford last week.
Amorim said that he wouldn’t be ready for the second leg of the semi-final against Athletic Bilbao or the West Ham fixture. There is a decent chance that he will be on the bench versus Chelsea.
Diogo Dalot is also doing everything possible to return for the final. The Portuguese international has a calf issue which has kept him sidelined since the 1-0 loss to Wolves last month.
