Monday Cheese Curds: Packers drafted just a bit differently in 2025

As the Green Bay Packers work through the classroom phase of the offseason program, they are quickly approaching the start of their OTAs, which begin in about two weeks. We’re now officially closer to that than to the 2025 NFL Draft, which is more than two weeks int he rear view mirror.

Looking back at the Packers’ draft this year finds that it was a bit unusual in a handful of different ways. For the first time in several years, the Packers did not make a draft-day trade. The last time that had happened was in 2014, when the Packers’ class included future Pro Bowlers Davante Adams, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, and Corey Linsley.

That’s not the only unusual part about this year’s class, however. As we’ll see in today’s first link, several of the team’s picks were tendency-breakers in one way or another, starting off with Matthew Golden and his incomplete athletic testing profile.

This week, we’ll find out when the Packers will play each of their opponents in 2025. But for now, let’s look back once again at the draft and how it sets the roster up for the schedule to come.

They're only three protons apart! This isn't really that bizarre. Those ancient alchemists could have done it too, if they'd had access to a 20-mile-long particle accelerator.
