Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has claimed Mikel Arteta's touchline antics would "would confuse the hell" out of him as a player.
Arsenal drew 2-2 with Liverpool on Sunday and are now battling to secure Champions League qualification.
Having looked set for a title charge, the Gunners failed to keep pace with Liverpool and are now 15 points behind Arne Slots's side in the Premier League table. Despite reaching the semi-final of the Champions League this season, questions have been raised over Arteta's future at Arsenal after yet another campaign without a trophy.
One person eager to discuss Arsenal and Arteta was former United goalkeeper Schmeichel. Speaking as a pundit for Viaplay, Schmeichel didn't hold back when discussing the Gunners boss.
"He was employed as head coach. He inherited a team, and that team is the only team that he's won a trophy with. Then it's his own team now," Schmeichel said.
"And in the process, he has now changed his job description, he's now the manager. So everything is on him. It's not recruitment, it's not the board."

When fellow pundit Jan-Aage Fjortoft suggested that Arteta wasn't entirely responsible for transfers, the former goalkeeper didn't hold back in his critique of Arteta: "No, no, no.
"Watch him in the technical area. Arteta is a control freak. He wants his players to play how he wants. He's directing everything.
"You know, you look at Arne Slot, he's so calm. Arteta instructed his players in training, in the team talk.
"Arteta is still playing the game for the players and that would confuse the hell out of me as a football player."
