Cowboys Micah Parsons Offers 1st Reaction To NFL Schedule Update

FRISCO - We have our first Dallas Cowboys game.

And we have our first Dallas Cowboys player reaction from ...

Guess who?

The opener has been announced for Thursday, Sept. 4 ... and it is going to be Dallas playing at the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on the road in Philly. (Mark it down: 7:20 CT on NBC.)

That doesn't just start the Dallas season.

That doesn't just start the Eagles season.

It's set up to be the No. 1 game in the NFL that weekend - the first scheduled game of them all.

And yes ... it is Micah Parsons who gets the first crack at reviewing it all.

"Yeah yeah let’s ball," Parsons wrote on Instagram Stories while utilizing an exhaling face and his trademark lion emoji.

The Cowboys have by some accounts the 11th most difficult schedule in the NFL this year, based simply on opponents. And that schedule just got a little tougher with this announcement.

Of course, when and where all the teams play each other - with the league's full slate to be released on Wednesday - will be the real determining factor as to whether Dallas, under new coach Brian Schottenheimer, can jump up from last year's 7-10 mark.

With next year's schedule taken into account, one projected Cowboys' win total next season is set at just 7.5. If all projections in the NFC East are correct, that would mean another third-place finish behind the Eagles with a projected win total of 11.5 and the Washington Commanders, who are projected to win 9.5 games.

But the good news is that Micah and the Cowboys don't have to worry about projections; they get to actually play the games.

So ... yeah, yeah. Let's ball.
