
Officially, the 2025 NFL schedule will be released on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Will the Bucs play Miami in Spain? In Detroit on Thanksgiving? At home on Christmas Day?
Those options are on table.
This morning, NBC had a fancy _Today_ show release of the NFL season-opener. It’ll be the Cowboys at the Eagles on Thursday, Sept. 4. Hardly the best matchup on the Eagles’ schedule, but what a NFL opening night is always beautiful spectacle, a signal that all is right in the world.
And since the NFL loves the spotlight, later today, Fox and Amazon plan to announce one game on their schedules. Amazon has the traditional Thursday night slate of games plus Christmas night.
Tomorrow morning, NFL Network plans to unveil the NFL’s international schedule. Miami is “hosting” a game in Madrid, and the Bucs are on one of the team’s on the Dolphins’ home schedule. However, Joe was sniffing around One Buc Palace recently and was told the Bucs are “very unlikely” to be the choice for Spain.
Also tomorrow, one ESPN game will shared during ABC’s _Good Morning America_ broadcast.
CBS won’t be ice out of the leakage and on Wednesday morning, _CBS Mornings_ is supposed to share a game on the CBS schedule. Also early on Wednesday, Netflix is also expected to share one of its Christmas games.
Joe has been told in past years that the Bucs typically volunteer to host a Christmas game if asked. This year, the NFL will host three games on the holiday, which falls on a Thursday.
Bottom line: there’s a solid chance you’ll know the details of one Bucs game before the schedule pops Wednesday night.
